Quick Apple Butter Recipe

Need apple butter for your cheeses this evening?
No problem, this chunky apple butter won't take long!

Finely dice a couple of apples so you have approx 12 ounces of dices.

Mix the apples with water, cider and sugar, bring them to a boil. Then let simmer on low heat.

Add the limejuice and the spices. You'll have to do this by your personal preference, depending on how you like your apple butter. I crushed three cloves, and added small dashes of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. I also added a teeny bit of salt to bring out the flavors.

Simmer until the texture is more "jammy", then let cool.
Note: You can add more water and let it simmer for a longer time for deeper flavor.

This one goes really well with some aged gouda & the crackers I made in a previous post.
