The April 2013 issue of Women's Health has a piece on drinks using wines. I was particularly keen on trying out the one with blackberries and rosemary; how come I haven't thought of this combination before? It is genious!
I did however want to tweak the recipe a bit. The Women's Health version had berries, rosemary, merlot and some liqueur. This is my version:
This makes a little over two cups (so two smaller glasses), adjust the amount to your glass.
Muddle 2 berries per serving (or more for taller glasses) in the glass you're going to serve the drink in.
Press the rosemary sprigs with the smoother end of the muddler (so the surface of the rosemary pines gets a little bruised, but not so that they come loose). Put the sprigs in the glasses.
Add a few pieces of ice, and a blackberry or two to garnish.
Pour on 1/2 cup of the white wine and 1/2 cup of the soda per glass.
I thought this was already really delicious, but I added a little juice from a lime as well to give it an extra kick. Yum!
