DIY Knitted Headband with Felt Flower

In an earlier post I showed you how to make your own felt flowers. Today I used one to hide the seam of my knitted headband. Even if it is really warm down here, the evenings get really really cold in San Francisco. Needed a little warm-me-up!

How to make your own:

Here I used a fairly bulky yarn called Hometown USA, by Lion Brand Yarn (5 dollars)
The knitting needles were a size 10 (6mm) (2 dollars)
(The felt flower 0.34 dollars)

I made 40 stitches to start with, but you might have to make more or less depending on the bulkiness of your yarn. Then do Irish moss stitches until the headband is the width you want. Then you just sew the ends together, and attach your felt flower on:

(See how I'm working on looking at the camera?)

If you don't want to put in the effort, you can always check what's out there:

PS: I'm sorry if you got multiple alerts, me and the blogger editor were having some disagreements :(
